We’re talking about homes that can be transformed at your command, even the guys at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) are creating something called CityHome, an ambitious project that can reshape a 15-by-15 room into any space you can think of, let’s say a lounge, study, kitchen, gym or sleeping area. This will be possible thanks to its “wall-mounted structure” that resembles a clock, making it easier to pick a time of the day and morph your bedroom right away.

A common situation will go down like this: You’re out on the street, and you forgot to make a list of the groceries that are needed, you’ll be able to use your phone in order to access the cameras inside your refrigerator, and with simple commands, it’ll be possible to ask the internal computer for any recommendations about what’s needed.  

Solar Will Get Even Cheaper 

Let’s dive into some eye-opening facts here; since the year 2000, the proportion of U.S. electricity generated from coal went from 50 percent to 25 percent this year. And those numbers will keep going down according to the Energy Department. And just in 2018, five coal mining giants have filed for bankruptcy, a consequence of the new demand for cleaner sources, battery storage methods and natural gas.

Without a doubt, solar energy will be at the center stage of this innovative revolution, thanks to its flexibility in operation, and its increasing economic accessibility. In other words, solar energy is about to get much cheaper in the following years, because of critical improvements in efficiency, panel size, manufacturing and cost of shipping.

For example, scientists at the data agency Lazard estimated that solar energy went from $360 per MWh in 2009, to less than $50 on average per MWh, a decrease of 720 percent; much more than any other energy source available.

At this moment, the amperage capacity of an EVSE (Electric Vehicle Service Equipment) handles a minimum of 30 amps, and has a cost of $500-$700. California is the pioneering state when it comes to the popularization and usage of this technology, a trend that will spread to other states once more auto-makers decide to invest heavily in electric cars. And that won’t take much time, maybe 10-15 years according to specialists.

Giants of the business world are competing fiercely for a major stake in this market, an industry worth billions of dollars that will change our lives forever, just like the smartphone and the 4G connectivity did at the time. Real estate is about to get better, and all buyers and sellers will need to look at these changes very closely, not only to enjoy the benefits, but also to improve the lives of those we love so much at home.
